It started with a simple observation: too many builders and tradies are still printing A1 plans at the local print shop, pulling out a scale ruler, and guessing at measurements. That is slow, easy to get wrong, and it costs money on every quote.
We built MetreMate to fix exactly that. Open a plan in your browser on any Windows or Mac computer, set the scale off a known dimension, and take off quantities in seconds. Your measurements come out accurate, repeatable, and ready to drop into a quote. Whether you work in metres or feet, on residential or commercial jobs, the workflow is the same.
Who it is for
MetreMate is built for the people who actually measure plans: builders, estimators, carpenters, concreters, roofers, plumbers, landscapers, and every other trade that quotes from drawings. It started in Australia and is now used by tradies and estimating teams around the world, including across the UK and the US.
MetreMate is spelled the Australian way, M-E-T-R-E. If you searched for 'meter mate' and found utility meter products, that is a different company.
Why we built it in the browser
Most takeoff software is a heavy desktop install tied to one Windows machine. MetreMate runs in any modern browser, on the computer in the office or the laptop on site, with nothing to install and a free plan to start. We do one thing and do it well: help you get accurate measurements from PDF plans, fast. We are proud to be Australian made, built from the ground up for the trades.
