How to measure a perimeter or run

1 min read Updated

Use Perimeter to measure the total length of a run with several sides, like skirting, fencing or edging. Click each point along the run and MetreMate adds up every side for you. Areas you trace also show their perimeter.

Step by step

  1. 1Make sure the sheet is scaled.
  2. 2Choose Perimeter in the tool list.
  3. 3Click each point along the run, including every return and jog.
  4. 4Finish the run at the last point.
  5. 5Read the total length on the plan, in linear metres or linear feet.

Tips

  • Drag a point afterwards and the length updates straight away.
  • If you have already traced the area, you already have its perimeter.
