How to organise mark-ups with layers

1 min read Updated

Layers keep a busy plan organised. Every mark-up sits on a layer, with its measurement next to it. You can rename mark-ups, drag them between layers, and hide or show a layer to focus on one part of the job. Hiding a layer never deletes anything.

Step by step

  1. 1Open Layers on the right of the toolbar.
  2. 2Create layers for the rooms, trades or stages you are working on.
  3. 3Drag a mark-up or group onto a layer to move it there.
  4. 4Click a mark-up's name to rename it, for example Bed 1.
  5. 5Use the eye icon to hide or show a layer or a single mark-up.
Rename a mark-up so it is easy to find later.

Tips

  • Each mark-up's measurement shows in the layers panel, so you can review quantities without hunting on the plan.
  • Hide a layer before you export to leave its mark-ups off the plan.
