Why scale matters

Every measurement you take in MetreMate depends on the scale being set correctly. If the scale is wrong, every length, area, and count will be off.

How to set the scale manually

  1. Find a known dimension on your plan, such as a door width, grid spacing, or a room dimension.
  2. Select Manual Scaling in MetreMate.
  3. Click the two endpoints of your known dimension on the plan.
  4. Enter the real-world distance when prompted.
  5. MetreMate applies that scale to every measurement.

Tips for accuracy

  • Use the longest known dimension available because longer distances usually improve accuracy.
  • Check your scale by measuring another known dimension and comparing the result.
  • Set the scale again when you change sheets because different pages can use different scales.

Auto scale as a starting point

MetreMate can also detect scale text in your PDF, such as "1:100", and suggest a scale automatically. You can accept or override the suggestion.
