What Bluebeam is genuinely great at
Bluebeam is powerful. For heavyweight PDF markup, multi-party Studio collaboration, drawing comparison, and enterprise document control, it earns its place, which is why it is the standard across much of the AEC industry. If you are a commercial estimator or project manager living in complex document sets all day, Bluebeam does more than MetreMate and does it well.
Where MetreMate fits
MetreMate's edge is fit and friction. It runs in a browser on a Mac or PC with nothing to install. Revu is not supported as a native Mac app, and Bluebeam's own Mac page suggests running Revu in a Windows virtual machine for full takeoff tools. Bluebeam on the web handles length, area and polylength measurements. MetreMate has a free plan to start, where Bluebeam is billed annually per user.
