What PlanSwift is genuinely good at
PlanSwift puts takeoff and estimating in one tool. It works with PDF, CAD and image files, and it supports material, labor and waste assemblies. Essential includes AI tools for Auto Count, Auto Scale and Auto Bookmark, plus 2 hours of live one-on-one training, and Core adds Auto Takeoff. If you build detailed estimates from your takeoff every day, it is a capable, established choice.
Where MetreMate fits
MetreMate's edge is platform and simplicity. PlanSwift is Windows software, and its own help site says it cannot be installed directly on a Mac without Boot Camp or a Windows virtual machine. MetreMate runs in any modern browser with nothing to install. It has a free plan to start, paid plans can be billed month to month, and most people take a first measurement in minutes. It does not have PlanSwift's assemblies, estimating or CAD file support.
