What is an addendum and what is a revision cloud?
An addendum is a formal change to the bid documents issued before bids are due, and it becomes part of the contract. A revision cloud is the scalloped outline drawn around whatever changed on a sheet, usually tagged with a delta triangle and revision number, so bidders can find the change fast.
Worked example
Addendum 2 reissues a floor plan sheet with one wall moved.
- 1.Find the revision cloud and delta tag on the reissued sheet
- 2.Re-measure only what is inside the cloud
- 3.Update the affected quantities and note the addendum number on your bid
Your bid reflects the addendum without redoing the whole takeoff.
Measure it in MetreMate
Upload the reissued sheet and measure the clouded area on its own layer, so the original takeoff and the addendum changes stay separate.
